Your typical wiper fluid will also freeze up in the hose and on your windshield, that is why you should use the special type for cold months. Also, replace your tires with studded or all-season kinds and pack chains of the right fit into your trunk. Make sure you know how to tie them around your wheels. Another tip is to prepare your tools, spare parts and extra car products, a first aid kit, non-perishable food, and blankets in case you have car trouble.
